Past Continues Tense


Past Continues Tense expresses an activity that was being done in the past.

Formula:

S + was/were + being + Verb-ing + O

Example:

1. I was reading a newspaper when she came

2. She walked here while they were playing basketball

Note:

Past continuous tense uses the conjunction (when or while).

excercise

1. When the phone rang, she (be write) a letter.

2. I (be listen) to my i-Pod, so I didn’t hear the fire alarm.
