Past Perfect tense


Past perfect expresses an activity that happened before an activity in the past.

Formula:

S+Had+Verb3+0
S+Had+been+C

Example:

1.      Before she went out, she had looked the door.

2.      We had been there before he arrived.

Exercise:

1. Before my mother (go), we (have/eat) the foods

Answer: …………………..

2. (Have) you (study) English before you (move) to New York?
